what does the bible say?
The word Paraclete means “one called alongside to help,” and Jesus identifies the Holy Spirit as our eternal Helper, Comforter, and Advocate (John 14:16-17). Just as Jesus guided His disciples during His earthly ministry, the Spirit now continues that role in the life of believers. The Spirit seals us as God’s own, guaranteeing our future inheritance and remaining with us forever (Ephesians 1:13-14). He empowers us to live out the fruit of the Spirit, helping us walk in holiness and obedience (Galatians 5:22-24). Because God’s Spirit dwells within us, we are never alone but continually strengthened, guided, and cared for by His presence.
