implications for today

Along with understanding that God is all-powerful and in complete control, we must also hold onto His character. God is good, kind, loving, merciful, faithful, compassionate, holy and trustworthy. Armed with this truth, we can work through anything and walk through difficult, disappointing, and/or unexplainable times in life . James wrote, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing” (James 1:2-4). Everything that happens in our lives has a divine purpose, even when we are unable to see it . David wrote, “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you” (Psalm 37:5). Another verse to hold onto as we trust in God’s control is Proverbs 3:5- 6): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” These Scriptures inform our responsibility as believers in God. God is trustworthy and in complete control. We can take comfort in this as we live to glorify His name and make Him known to all the world.
