To consider ending your life you must be experiencing a great lack of hope and much despair. It may not seem true just now, but even when you are at your lowest and things get worse, when it appears no one understands or cares, the truth is you are loved by the One who created you and He is actively pursuing a relationship with you right now. He is God and His name is Jesus.

Consider that Jesus left heaven and came to earth with the purpose of dying for you. He rose from the dead to prove to you that He is God and has defeated death—on your behalf! He says to call on Him (Psalm 50:15) and He will answer. Watch for Him.

Maybe you are feeling guilty about some sin and don't think God will forgive you. That is a lie! God forgave David for murder and adultery. When you call on Him, He will forgive you. God promises new life. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:17–19).

Please, pause for a moment and let God into your life right now. God says nothing is impossible with Him (Luke 1:37). He cares about you tremendously. He will lead you out of the desperation and dead-end you think you are in right now.

Jesus understands. He suffered rejection and sorrow and pain.

Invite Him to restore your life as you trust Him as your Savior for eternity and as you trust Him to help you now. He will help you: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you" (Psalm 32:8). With Jesus, you will walk through your difficulties with a friend—the God of the Universe (Proverbs 18:24).

Why not end your life? Because, friend, God cares about you and will actively help you fix what needs attention in your life. Throughout the Bible, God exclaims His love for those who struggle. Read this from Isaiah 61:1–3: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified." These words are about Jesus and they apply today.

If you have not already, trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. You can say these words out loud or quietly in your heart to God. He will hear you. "God, I need you in my life. Please forgive me for all that I have done. I place my faith in Jesus Christ and believe that He is my Savior. Please cleanse me, heal me, and restore my joy in life. Thank You for Your love for me and for Jesus' death on my behalf."
