Christian Rationalism – What is it?

Rationalism is a science and philosophy that identifies God as a "universal spiritual force," or a "universal intelligence," but not a person. So-called "Christian" Rationalism further states that God is "billions and billions of intelligent spiritual particles" that includes humans. Each of us, Christian Rationalists say, is a part of God.

Christian Rationalism is not biblical. Christian Rationalism denies Jesus' deity, the Bible as the Word of God, and salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Christian Rationalism holds that a few special people determined that holy men such as Jesus, Buddha, Confucius, and Mohammed all tried to teach basically the same thing and were mistakenly made into gods by people who really didn't understand them. Christian Rationalism claims that it has been able to compile the common teachings of these misunderstood men and made them coherent.

Among its teachings, Christian Rationalists cover psychic phenomena, reincarnation, incorporeal life, space and the universe, the power of thought, evolution, gods and religions, force and matter, the aura, ethics, family and children. Many of its ideals are clearly related to the occult.

Christian Rationalism is popular in New Age thought and cults. It is not Christian nor rational and can be considered a false religion.

The idea that man can concoct a religion is as old as the universe. Satan first told the lie that humans could be like God (Genesis 3:5). Jesus was not simply a good man who taught some ideals correctly, but the Son of God who claimed to be the only way to God the Father (John 14:6).
